Job Title-Certified Medical Coder – Outpatient & Emergency Department (ED)
Duration-08 Weeks (High chances of contract extension or getting a perm offer but depend on performance)
Location-100% Remote
Shift 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 35 hours per week

Job Description
Key Responsibilities: -

• Review medical records and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient and ED encounters.
• Apply ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, and Eligible to work-4 coding standards as applicable.
• Follow official coding guidelines, payer-specific requirements, and federal billing regulations.
• Utilize 3M/HDS coding applications and encoder tools.
• Research and resolve coding discrepancies and documentation-related issues.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to support accurate coding.
• Maintain coding accuracy and compliance with applicable billing requirements.
• Assist with coder training and provide guidance on coding-related questions when needed.

Required Qualifications: -

• Minimum 3 years of outpatient medical coding experience.
• Hands-on Emergency Department (ED) coding experience.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, Eligible to work-4, and ICD-9-CM.
• Experience with 3M/HDS coding applications and encoder tools.
• Knowledge of official coding guidelines, payer guidelines, and federal billing regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer-based coding systems.
• High school diploma or GED, along with relevant medical coding education or credentials.
• CCS certification is specified in the job requirements; other listed credentials include CCP,
• RHIA, and RHIT.

Schedule Requirements: -

• 100% remote assignment.
• Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, totaling 35 hours per week.
• Must be available to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) as required.
• Candidates should be available for the full assignment period.
