Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialists follow up on unpaid or denied medical insurance claims, work aging reports, and resolve payer discrepancies to keep a healthcare organization's revenue cycle moving. Core tasks include claim follow-up calls, appeals for denied claims, payment posting reconciliation, and tracking AR aging by payer. Most roles require 1-3 years of medical AR or collections experience and familiarity with EOBs, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and major payer portals. Remote AR specialist pay typically runs $18-$26/hour.
